Prime Video has released the much-awaited first teaser of its blockbuster fantasy series ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 3 during the prestigious ‘Hall H’ presentation of ‘San Diego Comic-Con’ (SDCC 2026). The grand event was attended by show creators JD Payne and Patrick McKay along with the main cast—Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owen Arthur, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Wayman, and newcomer Jamie Campbell Bower. They gave fans around the world an early and exciting glimpse of the next chapter in this epic saga.

The recently released teaser confirms that Season 3 will be the darkest chapter of the series yet. Five years after the fall of Eregon, Middle-earth is now at war as Sauron’s forces continue to expand their reach.
Sauron’s quest to obtain the ‘One Ring’ takes center stage
The Dark Lord has set up his base in Barad-dur and his sole purpose is to create the ‘One Ring’. As his influence grows across Middle-earth, Elves, Dwarves, humans, and wizards must put aside their differences and join together to stop him before it’s too late.

New characters join this fantasy epic
Prime Video also confirmed the addition of several new names to the cast. Eddie Marsan will play Thren, the older brother of King Durin IV. Andrew Richardson is joining as Anairon, Elendil’s younger son and brother of Isildur, while Adam Young will play Marnukh, a mysterious orc whose true intentions are not yet clear.
They’ll be joining the previously announced Jamie Campbell Bower (who will play Galadriel’s long-lost husband Celeborn) and Zubin Varla (who will play Roon’s Khamul the Easterling).
Simon Pegg voices Balrog
One of the biggest surprises at the panel was the announcement that Simon Pegg has joined the series as the voice of Balrog. According to the makers, this fearsome creature will speak for the first time in the franchise, which will be an important moment for this fantasy series.
Fans in ‘Hall H’ were treated to the sudden appearance of four armored Nazgnagôl. These were the ‘Second Age’ predecessors of the Nazgûl, who interrupted the panel during a special live presentation dedicated to Sauron.

‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ season 3 will premiere on Prime Video on November 11, 2026, with the first four episodes releasing simultaneously. The fifth and sixth episodes will be released on November 18, followed by the last two episodes on November 25.
