Comic-Con 2026 Big Reveal: New Ghost Rider will be seen in theaters in 2028, this superstar will play the iconic character

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made a big announcement during Marvel Studios’ Blockbuster Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. He told that a new film on Ghost Rider is in the development stage, which will be released in theaters in the year 2028. In this film, Hollywood star Ryan Gosling will play the role of the main bike-rider superhero, while the film will be directed by Shawn Levy.

Kevin Feige jokingly said that he has been asked for a long time when Ghost Rider and Ryan Gosling will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After this he called Ryan Gosling on the stage, who was welcomed by the fans with loud applause and slogans. Addressing the crowd, Ryan said, “Wow, is this really happening? As you all know, this is a character I’ve wanted to play for a very long time.”

Ryan Gosling further told the audience that only one director can bring the character of Ghost Rider to the big screen, and then he invited Shawn Levy on stage. The two are currently working on their upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter, which is scheduled to release on May 28, 2027. Shawn Levy told the crowd that he and Ryan Gosling often talked and shared ideas about Ghost Rider during their free time on set.

 

Shawn Levy, who has directed superhit films like Deadpool and Wolverine, said, “When Ryan started talking about his vision for this character, new ideas started coming to both of our minds. Finally I said, bro, let’s ride. So friends, now we will meet you in 2028.”
