Priyanka Chopra’s father Dr. Ashok Chopra was a highly respected doctor and surgeon by profession. He had served in the Indian Army Medical Corps and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After fighting a long battle with a serious disease like cancer since 2008, he died on 10 June 2013 in Mumbai at the age of 62.
Showing her undying love for her father, Priyanka had got a tattoo of “Daddy’s lil girl…” on her hand a few months before his death, which is still closest to her. While remembering her father in the famous American chat show ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’, Priyanka had said, “I was closest to my father. He was my biggest supporter, cheerleader and the most encouraging person in the room. If I won even a small award, he would scream with pride.”
