The controversy over Salman Khan’s film ‘Black Buck’ based on the 1998 blackbuck poaching case is deepening every minute. Actor Govind Namdev, who is playing the role of a lawyer in the film, had recently claimed that he was kept in the dark about the real story of the film. Now the film’s producer Amit Jani has completely rejected these claims and made a big revelation in a conversation with NDTV. Amit Jani told that Govind Namdev had not only signed the script of the first film after fully understanding it, but he had also signed the agreement for its sequel ‘Kala Hiran 2’.

Producer Amit Jani’s counter attack on Govind Namdev

Expressing surprise at Govind Namdev’s claims, Amit Jani said, “Such a senior actor was given the entire script. He first read the synopsis, then saw the character sketch and then read the entire script.” Amit Jani further said that during the shooting, Govind Namdev kept reading the script sitting in the hotel room and vanity van for five consecutive days. When he was standing in the courtroom scene as the lawyer of Bishnoi community, did he not know against whom he was fighting the case and whom he wanted to punish? Who is the character ‘Ayaan Khan’ standing there wearing the bracelet?

Threat or money affair?

Amit Jani expressed apprehension that the reason why Govind Namdev changed his statement after going to Mumbai could be some threat from Salman Khan’s close friends or associates. He said, “Either he was threatened on the phone that his son is being too jumpy, or he felt that he has already received the payment and check from the film, now he will get his benefits by getting into the good books of Salman Khan.” Jani reminded that as per the agreement, Namdev will have to participate in dubbing, remaining shooting and 5 days of media promotion (podcast and interviews). It is also clearly written in the agreement that he cannot make any statement that will tarnish the image of the production house, but he did exactly the opposite.

‘Blackbuck 2’ has also been signed

Amit Jani revealed that the story of the film could not be completed in one part, as it is not just a courtroom drama but also a crime thriller. When he told Namdev that ‘Black Buck 2’ would be made to show this 20 year long legal battle of Bishnoi community from 1998 to 2018, Govind Namdev became quite excited. He had said, “If Salman Khan is punished, I will be the lawyer who gets him punished.” After this he also signed the agreement for the sequel and collected the cheque. Now going to Mumbai and saying that he did not know anything is extremely irresponsible.

What was Govind Namdev’s statement?

Earlier, while talking to ‘Amar Ujala’, Govind Namdev had said that he was completely shaken after watching the trailer. He claimed, “This film is completely different from the story that was told to me. I was never told that a character like Salman Khan would be shown in this way. I was used by keeping me in the dark.” According to Namdev, he was told the name of the film was ‘Sambhal’ and that it was just a normal courtroom drama based on the on-record proceedings of the court.

Legal notice of Rs 50 lakh and Salman Khan’s stand in court

After this statement, producer Amit Jani has sent a legal notice to Govind Namdev. Giving this information on social media platform X, he wrote that Namdev will have to publicly apologize within 7 days and the production house will have to pay a fine of Rs 50 lakh, otherwise legal action will be taken. On the other hand, superstar Salman Khan has also approached Delhi High Court to ban this film. Salman says that this film violates his ‘personality rights’. The next hearing of this case is scheduled to be held on June 19.
