The world’s most prestigious film festival, the 79th Cannes Film Festival 2026, has started in the beautiful city of Cannes, France. This 12-day event, running from May 12 to May 23, will be the center of attraction for film lovers, directors and big stars from all over the world. This year, the jury of the festival is in the hands of famous South Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook. He is the first Korean to become jury president in the history of Cannes. But the most talked about film is Nag Ashwin’s film Kalki 2: The Resurgence, a special glimpse of which will be shown during the midnight screening.
