In an interview with Soha Ali Khan, Neetu Kapoor told that there used to be a lot of fights between her and Rishi Kapoor. She said, ‘I used to fight only with my husband and our fights used to last for months. At the time of quarrel, I was not able to express myself properly and Rishi did not listen to me, that is why I used to stop talking. He used to ask the children to know about me and after many months he himself would come and talk to me. After the fight, he used to agree to everything I said but it only lasted for a few days. Then he would return to his old style.

Neetu wanted to keep Rishi Kapoor happy

She further told that when I used to tell everyone that we have been married for 30 to 40 years, my mother-in-law used to jokingly say that you guys have been married only for 20 years, for the remaining 10 years you both did not even talk. However, Neetu also admits that she has been greatly influenced by Rishi Kapoor. I was associated with him since the age of 14-15. I grew up with him and he showed me the world. He used to take me to discotheques and teach me how to drink wine. I always tried to keep him happy.

Used to fast when the film flopped

Neetu told that whenever any of Rishi Kapoor’s films flopped, she used to keep fast for him and go to temples, gurudwaras and churches. She did not want to see him sad because Rishi Kapoor was her life. In today’s time, people do not consider marriage necessary and have children without marriage. That is why the importance of marriage is losing.

Rishi Kapoor was away from children

Apart from this, he said on the relationship between Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir-Riddhima that both were very afraid of their father. Whenever they came home, both of them used to go to their room. Even the sages did not live with them as friends, so that there would be fear among them. Ranbir had also told in Rishi Kapoor’s autobiography that he could not stay close to his father. Rishi Kapoor also admitted that he lost the opportunity to make his son a friend. There was always a distance between us, like there was between me and my father.

Rishi and Neetu’s relationship
