At the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah last year, Alia Bhatt talked about the importance of ‘Alpha’ and also acknowledged the challenges involved. As reported by Deadline, he said, “‘Alpha’ is the first female-led action film in the YRF universe, so it’s also a risk, because historically we haven’t seen such films perform as well as male-led films have.”
Why was ‘Alpha’ delayed?
‘Alpha’ was originally scheduled to release theatrically in December 2025, but was pushed after the makers decided to spend more time on visual effects. In a statement released in November, a Yash Raj Films spokesperson said that the team wanted to ensure that the film had the best theatrical experience and that the VFX work took longer than initially thought. After this the banner announced the new release date of the film as April 17, 2026. The release date of the film has been changed once again and it will now release in theaters worldwide on July 3, 2026.
