This news has been confirmed by a source speaking to BBC. The power couple, who got married in June 2006, have two daughters, Sunday Rose (17) and Faith Margaret (14). Representatives of both the artists have not yet issued any public statement on this separation.

The news was first reported by entertainment website TMZ, whose sources claimed that the couple had been living apart since the summer. According to sources, Kidman was not in favor of this separation. The BBC source confirmed this information, however, the specific reason for their separation has not yet been disclosed.

The partnership between the two was full of ups and downs.
This high-profile couple from Australia has seen many ups and downs during their 18-year marriage. Publicly, Kidman and Urban were often seen openly supporting each other at awards ceremonies and premieres, which reflected their strong public partnership.
Their relationship faced a major challenge early on when, just a few months into their marriage, Urban had to be admitted to a rehab center for treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. Urban called it a life-changing moment and praised the intervention by Kidman and her friends.

Despite reports of their separation, the couple recently appeared together in public. He was last seen in a FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville, Tennessee in June. Earlier in May, when Urban received the ACM Triple Crown Award, the two were photographed holding hands and close to each other.
Nicole Kidman was also previously married to actor Tom Cruise for more than a decade, which ended in 2001. He has two other children with Cruise.
