K pop superstar group BTS held their first live concert in almost four years, creating history by garnering 18.4 million views on Netflix. The streaming platform said Tuesday that the figure includes viewers watching live and tuning in within the first 24 hours of the broadcast.

BTS captures the charts

For the week ending March 22, ‘BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang’ ranked first on Netflix’s non-English series chart with 13.1 million views. Based on its calculations, Netflix said that the show was included in the top-10 charts of 80 countries including South Korea, Mexico, Japan and India, out of which it remained at number one in 24 countries.

Live performance of ‘Arirang’ album

On Saturday night, all seven members of BTS gave a spectacular performance in front of thousands of fans at Gwanghwamun Square. This special event was organized to celebrate the launch of his fifth studio album ‘Arirang’. It also became a huge hit on the internet and the content related to it was viewed more than 2.62 billion times on social media.

Special documentary coming soon

Seeing the enthusiasm of the fans, Netflix will release a behind-the-scenes documentary named ‘BTS: The Return’ this Friday. In this, the audience will get to see the entire process of making the new album and special glimpses behind the scenes.
