Sony SAB TV’s popular and oldest show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ still entertains the audience a lot. This show is not only a story, but also gives life lessons to people of all ages. Meanwhile, actor Nitish Bhaluni, who plays Jethalal Gada’s son ‘Tappu’ in the show, has revealed many things and talked openly about his character and entry in the show.
This is how Tappu’s audition was given
In an interview with Tele Chakkar, Nitish said, ‘When I came to know that Tappu’s auditions were going on for about one and a half years, the casting team also approached my friend. His age was more than mine and he did not. Then I thought why would they take me, so I did not go for the audition. When I came for the audition again after about 6 months, I was surprised that Tappu had not been found yet.
He further said, ‘After this I gave the audition and after coming home I called my mother and told her that ‘I had an audition in the show we used to watch.’ My father is also a big fan of the show, so my mother asked, ‘When will they call again?’ Then I told mom that this does not happen, if you are in the finals, then you get a call. But he showed confidence and said, ‘I will call you.’

2-3 months of hard work
Apart from this, Nitish told that ‘After 2 days I got a call for the next round. Then mother used to ask when will we call now? So two days later, I got a call for further work and this is how I got selected. I was very happy and was telling Papa that now I will become your friend’s son because Papa considered Jethalal as his friend and liked him very much. Along with happiness, everyone was also nervous whether people would accept or not. Although Ashish sir had already said that in the beginning, do not pay attention to social media and I did not even have time for all that. I worked very hard for 2-3 months and the family supported me a lot.
3 actors played the role of Tappu
Let us tell you that this popular show started in 2008. Even after almost 18 years, every character of the show rules the hearts of the audience. Talking about Tappu, till now 3 actors have played this role. When the show started, Bhavya Gandhi played the role of Tappu as a child actor and remained a part of the show for about 9 years i.e. till 2017. After this, Raj Anadkat played this role from 2017 to 2022. However, now Nitish Bhaluni is maintaining his image in this character from 2023.
