Varun Dhawan equals Shahrukh Khan
According to India Today, Varun Dhawan had equaled superstar Shahrukh Khan by giving 11 consecutive hit films. King Khan gave 11 hit films back-to-back from 2006 to 2015, which included movies like ‘Don’, ‘Chak De India’, ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, ‘My Name is Khan’, ‘Ra One’, ‘Don 2’, ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, ‘Chennai Express’, ‘Happy New Year’, ‘Dilwale’.
‘Kalank’ became Varun Dhawan’s first flop film
The multi-starrer film ‘Kalank’, released in the year 2019, is the first flop of Varun Dhawan’s career. The film was produced by Karan Johar himself. The film was made in a big budget and it flopped badly at the box office. After the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the year 2020, the Boycott Napo Kids campaign in the industry also had a bad impact on Varun’s career.

After ‘Kalank’, Varun Dhawan’s ‘Street Dancer 3D’ was also a flop. In 2022, his films like ‘Jug Jug Jio’ and ‘Bhediya’ came and both the films were average. However, Varun’s film Baby John, released in 2024, flopped badly. His film ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’ also performed well at the box office.

Varun Dhawan will be seen in ‘Hai Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai’
Varun Dhawan was last seen in the film ‘Border 2’ and it proved to be a hit at the box office. According to Bollywood Hungama, this film collected Rs 485 crore worldwide. Now Varun will soon be seen in the film ‘Hai Jawaani To Ishq Hona Hai’. In this film, he will be seen romancing with Pooja Hegde and Mrinal Thakur. This film will be released in theaters on May 22, 2026.
