Tuesday morning brought a very sad news for the Malayalam film industry. Famous actor Santosh Nair died in a horrific road accident in Enathu, Kerala early today. His wife has also been injured in this accident, who has been admitted to the hospital.Malayalam actor Santosh Nair died after a road accident in Enathu early Tuesday, police said. His wife, who was with him in the car, also sustained injuries. Nair started his film career with the 1982 film ‘Ithu Nanglude Katha’ and after that he played a variety of characters in more than 100 films, ranging from heroes and villains to supporting characters. His recent release film ‘Mohiniyattam’ is still running in theatres.

Actor Santosh Nair passes away
The car accident happened around 6.30 am, when the car in which he was traveling collided with a lorry, injuring both him and his wife. According to PTI, Nair suffered serious chest injuries after being hit by the steering wheel, while his wife suffered a broken rib.
Santosh Nair’s film ‘Mohiniyattam’ is still running in theatres.
His recent film ‘Mohiniyattam’ is currently running in theaters and now this turns out to be his last on-screen appearance. Another project from the same world, ‘Bharatanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam’, starring Saiju Kurup in the lead role, is gearing up for its digital release. The film, which released in theaters on April 10 as the sequel to ‘Bharatanatyam’ (2024), is scheduled to stream on Netflix from May 8.
Directed by Krishnadas Murali, the film revolves around Sasidharan Nair’s family, who find themselves stuck in a stressful situation. The cast of the film includes Suraj Venjaramoodu, Santosh Nair, Vinay Forte and Jagadish among many others.
Santosh Nair’s early life
Born on November 12, 1960 in Thiruvananthapuram, Santosh Keshavan Nair was brought up in a family with its roots in education. His father, C.N. Keshavan Nair, was a retired headmaster and his mother, P. Rajalakshmiamma, was a retired teacher. He spent much of his childhood in Petah with his two sisters, and for a period of time, he was raised by his maternal grandparents while his parents were in Ethiopia. He attended St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School and later studied mathematics at Mahatma Gandhi College. College life also attracted him towards student politics. While his sisters went on to become gynecologists, Santosh chose a completely different path and entered the field of acting.
