Delhi High Court on Friday postponed the hearing on the petition of actor Salman Khan, in which he had sought a ban on the shooting, promotion and release of the upcoming film ‘Black Deer: The Battle for Legacy’. The film producers’ lawyer had sought time to respond to the petition. This case was heard by the vacation bench of Justice Madhu Jain. Now the next hearing on this case will be on July 1.

What did Salman Khan’s lawyer say?
Senior advocate Sandeep Sethi, appearing on behalf of Khan, had appealed to the court to grant interim protection. He argued that the filmmakers were trying to take commercial advantage of the actor’s life and personality without his consent. Advocate Sethi said on behalf of Salman Khan, “They are making a film on my life and tearing the notice. They have no right to make a film on my life. I am seeking an interim injunction as the teaser has already been released.”

What did the film maker’s lawyer say?
Let us tell you that the film producer’s lawyer said that he has not received the copy of the petition filed by Salman’s lawyer. Only a copy of the application was received on Wednesday. Justice Madhu Jain asked the lawyer of petitioner Salman Khan to supply a copy of the petition to the other party. On this, Salman Khan’s lawyer Sethi argued that the defendants had already been informed and an affidavit of service had also been filed in the court.

During the last hearing, on Salman Khan’s petition, Delhi High Court had issued notice to the film’s producer Amit Jani and others and sought their reply.

Why has Salman demanded a ban on the film Black Deer?
It is noteworthy that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has sought a stay on the release of the film “Black Deer: The Battle for Legacy” from the Delhi High Court. In the petition, Salman Khan alleges that the poster of the film openly violates his personality rights and his name, image and public identity are being used without permission for commercial gain. Salman Khan says that the proposed film and the promotional material related to it infringes his personality rights, which can affect his reputation and legal rights.
