‘Dhurandhar 2’ directed by Aditya Dhar has printed money at the box office. The film was liked so much by the audience that even after 41 days of its release, it is still strong at the box office and is performing well compared to many new films. The reason why ‘Dhurandhar 2’ got so much love from the people was its powerful story, while the star cast of the film also left no stone unturned in breathing life into their characters. Recently, during an interview, Vishal Tyagi revealed that the explosion shown in the climax of the film was real and 500 liters of petrol was used for it.

Let us tell you that while talking to Hindi Rush, Vishal Tyagi revealed, “Usually people say, ‘Give us a small explosion, we will make it look big,’ but in Dhurandhar, Aditya Dhar did not want to use CG, especially for the explosions. The instructions were clear and we were given complete creative freedom. The tanker explosion scene in the climax was the most difficult to make.
Our biggest concern regarding safety was this scene. Imagine literally burning 500 liters of petrol. No CG was used in this, every small detail of the scene is real. We were worried that while blowing up the tankers, the flames might not reach Ranveer Singh, who was walking nearby. We did all the work and told Ranveer Singh exactly where he had to start walking.”

The climax was shot risking Ranveer’s life.
Although both Arjun Rampal and Ranveer Singh were present in this scene, Vishal told that Ranveer was in more danger. He said, “Arjun Rampal was also in that shot, but we removed him before the explosion shot—obviously. I was very worried about Ranveer, but he was not that worried. The reason was that he had seen our work and he knew how meticulously I had told everyone about the explosions. After the shot, he would just say one thing—’You tore it!’ We had packed up Arjun Reddy, he could have gone back to his van, but everyone stayed to watch the explosion.”

Talking about the pressure of filming this sequence, Vishal said, “I was under a lot of production pressure. The real train base and containers were used for the blast. It was very challenging, but we were confident. The production had asked me to use 250 liters of fuel, but I was adamant that at least 500 liters of fuel was needed. To carry out the blast, I had to put 25 liters of fuel in each tank. Kilo of explosives had to be added so that the right effect could be seen. I listened to everyone and not to my mind.

Meanwhile, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has become one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of all time, breaking many box office records. With its first installment, the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise has grossed more than Rs 3000 crore worldwide. Rakesh Bedi, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun also play important roles in this film directed by Aditya Dhar.
