A very exciting news has emerged for the fans of the Indian music industry and global K-pop. Famous Indian singer-songwriter Guru Randhawa has joined hands with global K-pop sensation girl group LE SSERAFIM. Together they have created a stunning remix version of LE SSERAFIM’s hit track ‘BOOMPALA’, which is taking social media and music charts by storm. This is the first time that Guru Randhawa has worked with a K-pop artist, causing tremendous excitement among music lovers in India and South Korea.
The song ‘BOOMPALA’ (featuring Guru Randhawa), released on June 5, is from LE SSERAFIM’s second studio album ‘PUREFLOW pt. This is a new version of the original song of ‘1’. Based on Latin House sounds and incorporating elements of the worldwide hit ‘Macarena’, this remix adds Guru Randhawa’s signature Punjabi-pop style.

This collaboration brings together one of K-pop’s leading girl groups and one of India’s most listened-to modern pop artists. Talking about the project, LE SSERAFIM said that they were excited to work with Guru Randhawa and felt that his musical style gave a new dimension to the song. The group further said that the song was actually created with the aim of bringing people together and creating a festival-like atmosphere.

Guru Randhawa described this collaboration as an opportunity to mix different musical styles. He added, “LE SSERAFIM are amazing and ‘BOOMPALA’ already has a great energy that reminds me of the big, party vibe I love in India. Adding my signature style to a Latin-house K-pop song with a touch of ‘Macarena’ felt like creating a true masterpiece.”
This remix is from LE SSERAFIM’s latest album ‘PUREFLOW pt. 1’s massive commercial success. Released in May, the album debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard’s ‘Top Album Sales’ chart. It sold over 500,000 physical copies in its first week of release.
Meanwhile, ‘BOOMPALA’ has also been liked a lot at the international level. It peaked at number 10 on Billboard’s ‘Bubbling Under Hot 100’ chart and also charted on several UK official charts, including the ‘Official Singles Sales’ and ‘Official Singles Downloads’ rankings. The group ‘LE SSERAFIM’ composed of Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha and Hong Yunchae launched in 2022 under the HYBE label company ‘Source Music’.
For Guru Randhawa, this collaboration adds K-pop to his growing list of international partnerships. Known for hit songs like ‘Patola’, ‘High Rated Gabru’ and ‘Lahore’, the singer has previously worked with artists like Pitbull, Rick Ross, French Montana and The Chainsmokers.
