Karuppu is in the news these days because of its massy treatment and stylish presentation. This Tamil film starring Suriya and Trisha is based on an old issue like corruption, but its treatment and presentation makes it completely entertaining. The story is about a father and his daughter, who come to Chennai to sell gold for the daughter’s liver transplant. But the matter gets entangled in the web of legal process and corruption. After this, there comes a big twist in the film, when God appears in the form of Suriya as a lawyer and starts fighting against the corrupt system.

The film shows in a very interesting way how corruption is spread at different levels of the system. Courtroom scenes, debates between lawyers and judges make the film more engaging. Suriya’s mass avatar turns out to be the biggest strength of the film. His screen presence looks great in powerful entry scenes, stylish action and Godly moments. Especially the action scenes have been completely created keeping the mass audience in mind.

Whereas Trisha impresses with her simplicity and innocent performance. His emotional scenes in the film have also become good. A car sequence, in which Trisha is driving and Suriya is sitting behind, looks quite entertaining. RJ Balaji has directed the film and also acted. His direction keeps the film stylish and fast-paced. The writing may not seem very new, but the presentation and treatment make the film different. Overall, Karuppu is an entertaining mass film, which gives the audience value for money due to action, style and strong screen presence.
