The Delhi High Court has issued an important interim order in the ongoing legal dispute over the legacy of late industrialist Sanjay Kapoor. Protecting the interests of Karisma Kapoor’s children, the court has directed her stepmother Priya Kapoor to stay away from Sanjay Kapoor’s movable and immovable property for the time being.
Ban on transfer of property for Priya Kapoor
Considering the seriousness of this matter, the court has adopted a tough stance. The court has given a clear order that Priya Kapoor can neither sell nor transfer any property of late Sanjay Kapoor to any other person.
Security of Assets: According to the order, until the final resolution of this legal dispute is reached, the status quo of all the properties will be preserved as it is.
Doubt on will: Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor’s mother has raised serious questions before the court on the authenticity of the will. The court said that now it is the responsibility of Priya Kapoor to give a logical answer to these legal doubts.

The Delhi High Court has restrained Priya Kapoor from selling or transferring any property to anyone else, and has ordered that all properties be kept safe until a decision is taken on the matter. The court also said that the mother of Karisma Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor has raised questions on the authenticity and validity of the will. In view of this, it is now the responsibility of Priya Kapoor to answer these concerns.
Court bans foreign bank accounts and crypto assets
Moreover, the Court has not limited itself to just physical assets but has taken a strict stance on financial transactions as well. The court has immediately banned the operation of Sanjay Kapoor’s foreign bank accounts and cryptocurrency holdings. Additionally, the defendants have been directed to produce their bank account details and statement of accounts before the Court. The Court believes that considering the sensitivity of this matter, financial transparency is extremely important.
Suspicious circumstances and questions on will
During the hearing, taking note of the concerns raised by the petitioners and respondent No. 3, the Court observed that several “suspicious circumstances” appear to exist in this case. The court made it clear that now it will be the responsibility of defendant no. 1 (Priya Kapoor) to clear these doubts and clarify her stand regarding the property. The judge said that since the petitioners have presented strong legal arguments, the respondent will have to explain all the legal circumstances which are being viewed with suspicion.
