Makeup artist Deepak Sawant gave an interview to Pooja Sawant on YouTube channel ‘Reel Meets Real’ and told how he did Smita’s last makeup. He said, ‘Smita Patil often used to say that send me off after making me a bride. I used to scold them not to say such things. She used to say the same thing to her mother and her mother also used to scold her.
Smita Patil’s body was kept on ice
Deepak told how he had tears in his eyes before doing Smita’s last make-up. Recalling his last day, he said, ‘After his death, his sister was coming from Chicago and it took 2-3 days for her to arrive. During this time his body was kept on ice and had become swollen.
Makeup done in front of Amitabh Bachchan
She further said, ‘Her mother gave me a make-up kit and said that Smita’s last wish was to go as a married woman. Amitabh Bachchan and others were sitting there. I started crying and while crying I did her makeup. I did her last make-up and made her look very beautiful on her last day.
Raj Babbar and Smita’s marriage
Let us tell you that Smita married actor Raj Babbar in 1983 and welcomed Prateek Babbar, but Smita died during labor pain on December 13, 1986. After this Raj Babbar started living with his first wife Nadira. Actually, Nadira and Raj Babbar got married in 1975. They have two children, Arya Babbar and Juhi Babbar.
