TV actress Shilpa Shinde, who is known for playing the role of Angoori Bhabhi in the hit show ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’, has made a big revelation about the legal tussle that followed her exit from the show in 2016. In a recent conversation on Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, Shilpa made a strong claim about the sexual harassment case filed against producer Sanjay Kohli. He told that this case was not true and said that he filed this case because he felt that he had no other option at that time amid the ongoing feud with the makers of the show. He also linked this situation to payment disputes and his exit from the popular sitcom.

Shilpa Shinde, who became famous in every household by playing the iconic character of ‘Anguri Bhabhi’ in the show, has confessed in a podcast after almost 10 years that the allegation of sexual harassment made against the show’s producer Sanjay Kohli in 2016 was false.

Made a surprising revelation in the podcast

During a conversation on the famous podcast of Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa, Shilpa Shinde put this truth in front of the world without any fear. He said:

“No one knows this, but I am not afraid to tell the truth. What I am saying is a very big thing. I had filed a case of sexual harassment against my producer because at that time I had no other option left. Only after this the matter was settled and I was able to get out of there.”

Why was the false allegation made? Pending payment was the main reason

Shilpa Shinde explained in detail that this entire controversy was related to her pending payments (outstanding money) and suddenly leaving the show. When his feud with the makers escalated, other producers in the industry also did not support him.

Citing her legal understanding, Shilpa explained:

Claim of compulsion: According to Shilpa, she could not think of any other option to put pressure on the makers.

Police and FIR process: She said, “I am from law background. To file an FIR directly, the police say that you will have to write a dirty complaint. Today I am confessing through this medium that that allegation was false.”

Result: After the case was registered, the makers came on the backfoot, an out-of-court settlement was reached between the two parties and Shilpa’s pending payment for the last three months was cleared.
