PVR Inox is going to re-release some of the hit films of David Dhawan, who gave a new dimension to Hindi cinema for almost a decade with highly successful comedies like Raja Babu, Aankhen and Partner. This film festival is organized to honor his legacy, ahead of the release of his latest film Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.

Dhawan, along with film actor Govinda and actor Salman Khan, gave some of the most entertaining films of the 1990s. A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Dhawan has over 40 years of experience in the film industry and is characterized by his distinctive film-making style that blends comedy and family drama. Niharika Bijli, Chief Strategist, PVR Inox Limited, thanked David and other filmmakers for their contribution and said that the new generation can learn a lot from their films.

Dhawan said, my aim has always been to make films that entertain people and help them forget their everyday problems. My idea has always been to make people laugh, even if just for three hours, make them feel good about life so that they walk out of the theater with a smile.

He further said, it is a heart-warming experience to see PVR Inox organizing a festival based on my work and bringing these films back to the big screen. These films were made with a lot of love, energy and instinct. I am very excited to see the audience coming back to theaters to relive that craziness, music and happiness once again.
