She added, “She travels a lot, so we let her remain as anonymous as possible. It’s normal for her, and people will be curious to know about her. I never want her to be afraid of it or be suspicious of people she meets. It’s okay for her to know, but it’s important to have a sense of choice.”
The actor revealed that the family decided to hire security after a disturbing incident when a stranger recorded Malti following her from school.
According to Chopra, that moment solidified the need to create clear boundaries for her daughter’s privacy and safety. “When there is security around us, it is mainly to ensure that she is not recorded without her consent because it happens a lot,” she said, adding, “I have always believed that I have chosen public life.”
However, he also said that his daughter should also have the same choice. Priyanka said, “When it comes to children, this is a new phenomenon. Over the last 10 to 20 years, we have all been learning what it will be like for them to grow up in the public world in the future. There needs to be some leniency for everyone, but also an awareness of safety and what it means.”
