A very shocking and sad news has come out from Gopalganj district of Bihar. Vijayendranath Tiwari, elder brother of veteran Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi, has allegedly been fatally attacked with an ax over an old land dispute. He has been seriously injured in this attack. The police, showing promptness, have arrested the main accused in this case.

According to the police, the attack took place on June 21 following a dispute over land in Belsand Tiwari Tola in Madhopur police station area. After receiving information about the incident, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sadar-2 and Madhopur Station House Officer (SHO) reached the spot and started investigation.

Injured Vijayendranath Tiwari was first taken to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital and later referred to Patna for better treatment. Doctors said that his condition is now stable and under control.

Considering the seriousness of the case, a team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) was called to the spot to collect evidence. Police have recovered the ax used in the attack and blood stained clothes of the accused.

Initial investigation revealed that the attack was due to an old land dispute. The accused, identified as Rajesh Sah, a neighbor of the victim, allegedly attacked Tiwari with an axe, police said.

Rajesh Sah has been arrested and the process of sending him to judicial custody is underway. Further legal action is being taken in the matter.

Police said that law and order is normal in the area. Pankaj Tripathi was born in Belsand village of Gopalganj district of Bihar to Pandit Banaras Tiwari and Hemwanti Tiwari. The actor is the youngest of four siblings and has two elder brothers (including Vijayendranath Tiwari) and an elder sister, Sabita Tiwari. It is said that Tripathi had changed his surname from Tiwari to Tripathi during his school days. He is married to Mridula Tripathi and has a daughter, Aashi.
