A big update has come out regarding ‘Alpha’, the first female-oriented action film of Yash Raj Films (YRF)’s ambitious spy universe. After several postponements, now the makers have officially announced the new release date of the film. This film starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh will now hit the theaters on July 10, 2026.
Alpha gets a new release date
This announcement by YRF included a glimpse of Alia Bhatt as well as an official update on the star cast of Sharvari, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. After several delays the film will finally release on July 10.

What did Alia Bhatt once say about Alpha?
Last year, Alia Bhatt attended the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah, where she talked about Alpha. According to Deadline, the actress had said, “Alpha is the first female-led action film in the YRF universe, so it’s also a risk because you’ve never seen her perform the way other male-led films have.”

Why was the alpha delayed in the first place?
Ahead of the original release date in December 2025, a YRF spokesperson spoke to the media in November and said that the film had been delayed due to excessive VFX work. The banner spokesperson said in the statement, “Alpha is a very special film for us and we want to showcase the film in its most cinematic form. We have realized that VFX will take a little longer than we initially anticipated. We want to leave no stone unturned in making Alpha a theatrical experience for everyone. Therefore, we will now release the film on April 17, 2026.”

Alpha is the latest addition to YRF’s spy franchise after Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, Tiger 3, War, War 2 and Pathan.
