The actor also revealed that though he has never worked with Ranveer Singh, he wants the situation to be resolved amicably so that things don’t get worse.

What is this controversy related to Ranveer Singh?

The controversy started when FWICE issued a ‘Non-Cooperation Directive’ (NCD)—a kind of ban—against Ranveer Singh. This step was taken due to Ranveer reportedly backing out of Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘Don 3’ at the last moment. According to an official statement shared by ANI, the federation took “serious cognizance” of a complaint sent by the ‘Indian Film and Television Directors Association’ (IFTDA).

According to reports, this complaint was filed by filmmaker Farhan Akhtar on April 11, 2026. Subsequently, FWICE held meetings with all parties involved in the matter, including Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani. During these discussions, the filmmakers reportedly told the federation that even before Ranveer reportedly walked out of the project, around Rs 45 crore had already been spent on the pre-production of the film.

How did Ranveer Singh react to this? Responding to the issue, Ranveer Singh’s official spokesperson said: “Ranveer Singh has the utmost respect for the film industry and everyone associated with the ‘Don’ franchise. During the recent developments related to ‘Don 3’, he has deliberately decided to maintain silence as he believes that professional conversations and personal relationships are best handled with dignity, understanding and mutual respect. However, from time to time, various Talks and speculations have come up, but Ranveer has never felt the need to respond publicly or indulge in these speculations. He has deep respect and goodwill for all the people associated with this franchise, and it has always been his conscious decision to maintain restraint and decency on such occasions. Will maintain.”

Ranveer Singh was last seen in Aditya Dhar’s film ‘Dhurandhar’. He has not announced his next project yet. At the same time, Manoj Bajpayee’s film ‘Governor’ will be released in theaters on June 12.
