South cinema superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran is in the news these days. Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar’s company Dharma Productions has taken its first step in the Malayalam film industry and for this he has joined hands with Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Together they have officially announced their new pan-India film Odeon: The Age of Illusion. This will be a large-scale period drama film, whose story is based on the folklore and mysterious forces of 19th century Kerala.
Strong combination of horror and thriller
This film is being directed by Rahul Sadashivan, who made superhit horror films like Bhramyugam. South’s best actress Manju Warrier will be seen in the lead role along with Prithviraj Sukumaran in the film. Dharma Productions and Prithviraj Productions are jointly producing this film.

Expressing his happiness on social media, Karan Johar said that he has been a fan of the craft and stories of Malayalam cinema for a long time. When this vision and brilliant script of Rahul Sadasivan came to him, he felt that there could not be a better opportunity than this to enter the Malayalam industry. The film will be released in Malayalam as well as Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages.

Prithviraj will become a dreaded villain in Varanasi
Apart from Karan Johar’s project, Prithviraj Sukumaran is also working on Baahubali and RRR fame director S.S. There is also a lot of buzz about Rajamouli’s upcoming mega-budget film Varanasi. In this film, which is being made with a record breaking budget of around Rs 1400 crore, Prithviraj will be seen in the role of a dreaded villain Kumbha. In this film, he will share the screen with superstar Mahesh Babu and global icon Priyanka Chopra for the first time. The shooting of this adventure-thriller film is currently going on at a fast pace, in which timelines from space to Antarctica will be shown. Fans are eagerly waiting for this visual treat and this film is coming to the theaters next year i.e. 2027.
