Punjabi singers Karan Aujla and Yoyo Honey Singh, who were summoned for objectionable lyrics in their recent songs, did not appear before the Punjab State Women’s Commission on Monday. Both are currently abroad. The State Women’s Commission on Thursday took automatic cognizance of objectionable lyrics in Karan Aujla’s song ‘MF Gabru’ and Honey Singh’s latest track ‘Millionaire’ and asked them to appear at the Commission’s office in Chandigarh at 11 am on August 11. Although both the singers did not appear before the Commission, they have apologized.

Punjab State Women’s Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill said today that both of her singers have talked on the phone and they have regretted the use of objectionable words in these songs and are talking about how to remove these words from these songs.
State Women’s Commission summoned singers
Let us know that on August 11, Monday, the State Women’s Commission had summoned both singers regarding the use of objectionable words in these songs. However, both singers did not appear today. In this regard, the chairperson of Punjab State Women’s Commission, Raj Lali Gill said that both singers have told them that they will soon come to them as they are busy in work in foreigners. Meanwhile, their lawyers will file their reply. I will get a police report in two-three days. Raj Lali Gill also said that singers should not use objectionable words in their songs. Either the central government should do this work or the state government should do this.
Citing both, the Women’s Commission chief had asked the Punjab Police to investigate the case. In two letters written to Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, he said that a senior police officer should immediately investigate and take necessary action as per the law. The letter said that the investigating officer should be instructed to ensure that the action taken and the status related to the concerned singers should be present in the Commission’s office on August 11.
