To mark the birthday of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, the state government on Thursday announced waiver of entry fees at zoos on June 21 and 22. Announcing this, state minister Ranjit Kumar told reporters that this initiative has been taken especially to entertain the young visitors.Making the official announcement of the decision on Thursday, state minister Ranjit Kumar told reporters that the main objective of this special initiative is to entertain children and young visitors and bring happiness on their faces.

“Children are like God to us”
Minister Ranjit Kumar became emotional during the press conference as he shared the sentiment behind the government’s move. He said:“Children are like God to us. We have done all this solely for their happiness and entertainment. On this special occasion of Chief Minister’s birthday, we want children to spend a great time with their families amidst nature and wildlife.”
Chief Minister’s birthday is on 22nd June
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay’s birthday falls on June 22. Keeping this in view, the administration has announced this two-day special relaxation including the weekend days (Saturday and Sunday), so that more and more families can take advantage of it.

After this decision, a large number of tourists and children are expected to visit the major biological parks of the state (like Vandalur Zoo). The administration has also started necessary preparations regarding security and crowd management during this free entry.
