Actress Swara Bhaskar always puts forward her views openly. Meanwhile, she has strongly rebuked those who are body shaming. She shared two pictures on her Instagram, in which on one side she was seen slim and fit as before, while on the other side she was seen holding her daughter Rabia in her lap. She has also given negative comments regarding her increasing weight after pregnancy.

Swara shared two pictures on her Instagram and wrote, ‘This is a matter on which I will express my views again and again, no matter what happens. The amount of anger and hatred I have faced over the past few years, just because my body has changed after giving birth and I refuse to lose weight as quickly as people on the internet suggest… is really strange. Women’s body is not just for show or glamour, it has much more importance than that. When I had a child two and a half years ago, I deliberately did not rush to become the same as before. Because once you become a mother, you are never the same again. You become a parent for the rest of your life.

Swara further said, ‘Yes, we miss our old life, those carefree days, the slim and tight body. But considering the same old form as ideal again and again, trying to force oneself to be like that, is a kind of strictness with oneself. Our body has given birth to a new life, housed it within itself, maintained it, given birth to it and nourished it. So change is normal. The pressure to always look good for the cameras, the Internet or strangers, and shaming women for gaining weight after having a baby, is neither wise nor right. No one has any right to comment on this.
Swara finally said, ‘Those who say but you are an actor, then listen, there is no relation between weight and acting. Don’t think that good looks are the only sign of a good actor. The real meaning lies in talent and skill. Many of the best artists of our country were not conventionally beautiful, yet they were the best.
