Got taunts even after first film was successful
Sunil Shetty had told in an interview to Radio Nasha that even after the success of his debut film ‘Balwaan’ (1992), a critic had taunted him. Sunil had told, ‘When Balwaan was released, it was a blockbuster. However, a big critic said that his film worked but he is a very bad actor. He doesn’t know how to walk, his body is very stiff, he should sell idli vada in his shop.

‘I used to clean tables, serve food…’
The actor had further said, ‘He felt that he was insulting me, but Idli-Vada was my livelihood. It probably gave my sisters and me a better education than those whose fathers did not sell idli-vada or run a South Indian business.
They thought they were making fun of me, but if I am still alive in the industry after 35 years, it is because of the Idli-Vada restaurant and my business. I used to do everything, I used to clean tables, serve food at the counter and stand in the kitchen. What difference does it make? I was Sunil Shetty then and I am Sunil Shetty even now.

Where does Sunil Shetty earn from?
Sunil Shetty has dining clubs like ‘Mischief Dining Bar’ and ‘Club H20’ in Mumbai. He also runs many hotels and restaurants. Apart from this business, his income also comes from real estate through production houses ‘Popcorn Entertainment’, ‘S2 Realty’.
Actor will be seen in ‘Welcome to the Jungle’
Sunil Shetty has worked with Akshay Kumar in more than a dozen films. Now once again this pair is coming on the big screen. Both the stars’ film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is going to be released on June 26. This action comedy film has been directed by Ahmed Khan.
