The troubles of former ‘Bigg Boss’ contestant and famous stand-up comedian Praneet More and web developer Himanshu Jangra are increasing continuously. Gurugram Police has registered a criminal case against the two over the ‘₹370 biryani’ controversy that took place during a live comedy show organized in Gurugram. Along with the police, now the National Commission for Women (NCW) has also taken a tough stance in this matter. The commission has taken suo motu cognizance of the Gurugram comedy show controversy and summoned Praneet More and Himanshu Jangra to appear before the panel on June 22, 2026.

What is the whole controversy of ‘₹370 biryani’?
This whole controversy started during a stand-up comedy show of Praneet More in Gurugram. In a video clip of the show that went viral on social media, web developer Himanshu Jangra is seen sitting in the audience narrating the story of one of his personal dates.
Jangra said on the show that he went on a date with a woman, where he spent ₹370 on a plate of chicken biryani. After this, when the woman asked him to drop her home, Jangra made objectionable remarks saying that he was expecting physical intimacy from the woman in return for the expenses.

Comedian Praneet More present on the stage and many people sitting in the hall were seen laughing at this comment. When the video went viral on the internet, it was considered to promote misogyny, humiliating and non-consensual forceful behaviour, leading to sharp criticism of the duo on social media.
Gurugram Police registered a case against Praneet More and Himanshu Jangra in the ₹370 biryani case.
According to news agency ANI, both people have been issued notices and directed to join the investigation. Social media platforms have also been directed to remove videos related to this case. The FIR has been registered under Section 67 of the Information Technology (IT) Act and sections 294, 353(3), 75(2) and 75(3) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).
Police said that a detailed investigation is still going on under the supervision of the Police Commissioner.

Earlier on Saturday, comedian Praneet More publicly apologized over the ₹370 biryani controversy involving a Gurugram comedy show. In a video posted to Instagram, he apologized to viewers and said he “deserved this hate.”

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Cyber Police has already registered a case against comedians Praneet More, Himanshu Jangra and others for allegedly spreading “obscene and objectionable” content on social media and summoned them for questioning.
