Manoj Bajpayee’s film ‘Ghooskhor Pandit’, which was recently announced on Netflix, is embroiled in legal and social controversies even before its release. Amid growing outrage over the title of the film, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has issued a stern warning to producer Neeraj Pandey and the production banner. Through a letter, he expressed concern over the use of derogatory and offensive titles. For those who don’t know, Manoj Bajpayee’s Netflix film was announced on February 3, 2026. However, a controversy has since erupted, with social media users accusing the makers of Ghooskhor Pandit of defaming a particular community through the film’s title and dialogues. Later, several FIRs were registered against the makers and now FWICE has also issued a warning against Neeraj Pandey.
The title of the film was considered objectionable
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) on Friday addressed film and television producer bodies, OTT platforms and individual film associations through a letter. In its letter, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees wrote, ‘We are expressing serious concern over the title of the controversial film ‘Ghooskhor Pandit’ made under the Neeraj Pandey banner. The concerned associations are strongly objecting to the use of this title. It targets a particular community and their traditional means of livelihood in a derogatory and objectionable manner. Such titles can hurt sentiments, create misunderstandings and disturb social harmony.

Order issued to Neeraj Pandey
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees further said in the letter, ‘We appeal to the producer bodies to refrain from registering inflammatory titles. Director Neeraj Pandey is advised to withdraw the title to maintain social harmony and unity.
What action was asked to be taken?
Finally, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees demanded appropriate action. FWICE said, ‘If necessary action is not taken soon, we will be forced to advise all our respective associations and many of our members to stay away from any project of producer Neeraj Pandey. We are confident that you (Neeraj Pandey) will understand the seriousness of this matter and will take appropriate action in the interest of the film industry and society.

warning of non-cooperation movement
FWICE has given an ultimatum demanding strict action in this matter. The federation has said that if the title is not changed, they will be forced to advise all their affiliated unions and thousands of members to stay away from any project of Neeraj Pandey.
