Created by Jennifer Murrow, Eric Robles and Matt Duffer, this animated series takes us back to the winter of 1985. Throughout the series, Eleven and her friends face a new paranormal threat, culminating in an epic showdown.
Who is the ‘Queen’ and how did this threat arise?
There is a shocking revelation at the end of the story. Daniel Fisher, an employee of ‘Hawkins Food Mart’, was conducting secret experiments on a vine from ‘Upside Down’. Fisher thought the vine was safe, but it spread into the tunnels beneath the lab. When this vine consumed Fisher’s ‘glowing green liquid’, she transformed into a giant and intelligent ‘Queen’ monster. The situation went out of control when the Queen herself swallowed Fischer and all the liquid, making her more powerful than ever.

When Queen begins to wreak havoc on Hawkins, Eleven’s friends risk their lives to hatch a plan:
Will and Nikki: Will strategizes to give Nikki time to repair her ‘light blaster’ (demon killing weapon).
Dustin: With his cleverness he distracted the remaining small demons away from the main battlefield.
Max, Lucas and Will: All three of them fought the demons at the grassroots level.
Eleven and Mike: Together they distracted Queen so that she could not attack the team.

In the final moments of the battle, Queen grabs hold of Eleven and tries to pull her into the depths of the ‘Upside Down’. At the same time, Nikki adjusts her light blaster and attacks Queen with precision, cutting off one of her arms.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Eleven used her full telekinetic powers and closed the portal. The Queen became trapped in the portal between the two worlds and was ultimately destroyed. Eleven proves once again that she can go to any extent for her friends.
