A new era of action and suspense has started in Bollywood. After the blockbuster success of Aditya Dhar’s directorial venture ‘Dhurandhar’, now its sequel ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ is all set to set the box office on fire. The hype created by the film’s trailer is now wreaking havoc in the advance booking figures. The film has achieved that feat just 9 days before its release, which many big films are not able to do even on their opening day.
Dhurandhar 2’s advance booking creates premiere record
Advance booking for Dhurandhar 2 started on March 7 at 11:01 AM after the trailer was released. Within 24 hours, the film had sold 87K tickets on BookMyShow alone. By the morning of March 9, this figure had crossed 1.5 lakh on the platform and more than 2 lakh overall. According to Sacnilk, the premiere show of the film has sold 2.06 lakh tickets across India, earning ₹12.29 crore. Although the majority of this collection came from the original Hindi version, the Tamil dub outperformed expectations, earning around ₹10 lakh from preview shows.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge now holds the record for the highest collection by a Bollywood film from the premiere show, surpassing Stree 2’s ₹10 crore mark. Considering that the premiere is still 9 days away, this figure is likely to increase further.
Dhurandhar 2 beats opening day collections of films with advance booking
With collections from advance bookings for the premiere day alone, Dhurandhar 2 has left behind the opening-day collections of many similar Bollywood films. The ₹12.29 crore that Dhurandhar 2 has earned in its preview shows is more than the opening day collection of Shahid Kapoor’s O Romeo a month ago. Vishal Bhardwaj’s film had an opening of slightly more than ₹9 crore in India. Similarly, Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 also had a lower opening last year, at around ₹12 crore.
