As exciting as the final of cricket’s Mahakumbh was, its closing ceremony was even more explosive. Before the title clash between India and New Zealand, there was such a flood of music in the world’s largest cricket stadium that more than 1.25 lakh spectators were forced to dance. The biggest attraction of the evening was global pop icon Ricky Martin, who with his energy made the entire Ahmedabad dance to ‘Latino beats’.
Along with Martin, Indian singers Sukhbir and Falguni Pathak also entertained the audience. Before the final match between India and New Zealand in Ahmedabad, the three singers together created a wonderful musical atmosphere. Sukhbir, popularly known as the ‘Prince of Bhangra’, along with his dance troupe performed several hit songs including his popular Punjabi song ‘O Ho Ho Ho – O Ho Ho Ho’.

Falguni Pathak, popularly known as ‘Dandiya Queen’, started the program with Gujarati folk songs and Bollywood songs along with about 50 dancers. Latino singer-songwriter Martin concluded his performance with his biggest hits ‘Maria’ and ‘La Copa de la Vida’. The audience present at Narendra Modi Stadium was enthralled by these performances.
Falguni Pathak: Traditional debut of ‘Dandiya Queen’
The program was started by ‘Dandiya Queen’ Falguni Pathak. As he lent his voice to Gujarati folk songs and evergreen Bollywood tunes, the entire stadium transformed into a huge Garba pandal. Along with around 50 professional dancers, Falguni spread the fragrance of Ahmedabad’s soil on the global stage. His performance filled the local fans with the kind of enthusiasm that can only be seen in a big match like the final.

Sukhbir: High-voltage charisma of ‘Prince of Bhangra’
After Gujarati sweetness, it was the turn of the passionate music of North India. Sukhbir, popularly known as ‘Prince of Bhangra’, entered with his hit song ‘O Ho Ho Ho’. With his signature steps and explosive beats, Sukhbir had the audience on the edge of their seats. The Bhangra troupe accompanying him took the energy of the stadium to the next level.
