Famous stand-up comedian Samay Raina has made a comeback with the video Still Alive. In this one and a half hour video, he spoke openly about the controversies related to India’s Got Latent show in 2025 and his mental health. Samay told that during that difficult period, he was going through a serious condition like psychosis, where he could not understand the difference between truth and imagination. Despite having a fan following of crores on the outside, he was fighting deep anxiety and panic attacks on the inside.
In this difficult time, Father Time became his biggest strength. Samay emotionally told that while his mother was scared of controversies, his father, being a Kashmiri Pandit, had suffered the pain of displacement in 1990, hence he was calm in this situation also. He used to keep the atmosphere light by sending memes in the family group. Samay said, ‘I never saw my father break, it was his courage that gave me the strength to fight.’

Samay also recalled the moment when he picked up his mother’s video call and saw her trembling with fear. The mother was crying and asking, ‘Son, what happened?’ Seeing this, Samay felt very regretful. On the other side was his father, who did not express his feelings even under the threat of going to jail and simply remained silent.

Samay also talked deeply about the old thinking of being a man and the silence of Indian fathers. He said that men who suppress their emotions often become emotionally distant from their families. According to Samay, ‘Your father loves you as much as your mother, he just doesn’t know how to express it.’ He warned the youth that suppressing emotions to become a man makes you incomplete from within. In a world of toxic masculinity fueled by people like Andrew Tate, time has sent home the message that expressing your feelings and crying in front of your loved ones is not weakness, but real strength.
