These days, a multidimensional competition is being seen at the box office in Indian cinemas. The audience has many great options of thriller, drama and serious cinema. After the magical numbers of the opening weekend, the real test now is to survive on working days i.e. weekdays. This race includes ‘I will be back’ directed by Imtiaz Ali, Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ and Manoj Bajpayee’s serious thriller ‘Governor: The Silent Savior’.
Look at the game of fate that while one film is enjoying strong ‘word-of-mouth’ (audience appreciation), the other two films are struggling hard to maintain their hold at the box office. Let us analyze in detail how these three big films performed at the Indian box office on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

1. ‘I will be back’ – Diljit and Imtiaz’s magic continues at the box office on the fifth day
Directed by Imtiaz Ali’s unique direction, ‘I will be back’ is continuously maintaining its dominance at the box office. On the basis of praise from film critics and excellent response from the audience, the film has once again registered a jump in its earnings on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s collection: According to the latest data from industry tracker Sacnilk, the film performed brilliantly in around 2,020 shows across the country and collected a net collection of Rs 1.65 crore.
Occupancy Report: The total Hindi occupancy of this film in theaters was recorded at 31.97%. The most interesting thing is that the biggest crowd is gathering at night time to watch the film. The night show occupancy reached 47.46%, while the afternoon show had 32.69%, the evening show had 30.69% and the morning show had 13.62%.
Mathematics of total earning: After five days of travel, the total net collection of the film in India stands at Rs 8.30 crore. If we talk about gross collection, then this figure has crossed Rs 9.88 crore, which is very close to 10 crore.
Strengths of Star Cast: The strong acting and screen presence of Diljit Dosanjh, Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari Wagh are being considered as the main reason behind the success of the film.
2. ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ – Kangana Ranaut’s film’s earnings stopped, search for stability
On the other hand, the film ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ based on political-social background starring Kangana Ranaut is not achieving the same pace at the box office as was expected. There was no increase in the graph of the film on the fifth day of its release.
Tuesday’s collection: After earning a lackluster Rs 0.65 crore on the first Monday, the film also managed a mere Rs 0.65 crore on Tuesday in 1,693 shows across the country.
Total journey till now: This film, which was released on the big screen on June 12, 2026, is facing tough competition from other films. The total Indian collection of the film has reached Rs 5.55 crore in five days.
Made under the skillful direction of Manoj Tapadia, the film also has experienced actors like Girija Oak, Isha Dey, Prasad Oak and Smita Tambe playing the lead roles, but the slow pace of the story is failing to completely attract the audience.

3. ‘Governor: The Silent Savior’ – Manoj Bajpayee’s thriller film slowed down.

Manoj Bajpayee’s fictional suspense thriller ‘Governor: The Silent Savior’, one of the most experienced actors of Bollywood, is facing indifference from the audience at the box office. The film already had a slow start, and its collections saw a further decline on the fifth day (Tuesday).
Tuesday’s collection: Due to it being a working day, the film’s earnings graph dropped and it earned only a paltry Rs 0.46 crore from 1,183 shows.
Total Box Office Collection: According to the report of Saknilk, this suspense thriller film has so far made a total net business of Rs 4.41 crore from the Indian market. The film may definitely have some expectations from the coming weekend, but for that it will have to survive the working days.
Looking at the current box office trends, it can be clearly estimated that the audience is now giving preference to those stories made out of the box which have novelty along with entertainment. This is the reason why Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Main Vyapar Aaunga’ has come out ahead in this triangular competition, while the coming days are going to be a tough test for ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhaata’ and ‘Governor’.
