The tremendous success at the box office has breathed new life into the Hindi film industry. After the tsunami-like success of Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ and Sunny Deol’s ‘Border 2’, veteran filmmaker Karan Johar has announced his comeback to Bollywood. Johar has written an emotional and aggressive post on social media targeting the critics who were predicting the end of Bollywood.

‘Bollywood is back’

After the tremendous success of Ranveer Singh starrer ‘Dhurandhar’ and Sunny Deol starrer ‘Border 2’ at the box office, filmmaker Karan Johar wrote a post on social media saying that ‘Bollywood is back.’ Johar said on Instagram on Sunday, “The recent success of two big Hindi films in a row proves one thing… Bollywood is back.The words of critics are useless. When these films touch the hearts of the audience, all the ‘Dhurandhars’ will cross new ‘borders’ of excellence.”

‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released on December 5, 2025 and stars Ranveer Singh along with Akshay Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, R Madhavan and Arjun Rampal. This film has earned more than 1000 crores worldwide. The second part of the film is going to be released in theaters on March 19. ‘Border 2’ is directed by Anurag Singh and is the sequel to the 1997 film ‘Border’.

The film starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty was released on January 23 and has so far earned Rs 129.89 crore at the domestic box office. This film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishna Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. The film also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana in important roles.
