Veteran Bollywood actor Sunny Deol, who created a stir at the box office with blockbuster films like ‘Border 2’ and ‘Gadar 2’, is once again ready to return to the screen with a very emotional and powerful story taken from the pages of history. Aamir Khan Productions has released the second teaser of Sunny Deol’s upcoming film ‘Partition 1947’ on Saturday, July 18, 2026, which narrates the deep wounds and tragedy of the partition of the country.

The teaser begins with several emotional scenes depicting violence, arson and atrocities on common people during Partition. The initial moments show the characters of Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal and Shabana Azmi, who are devastated by the tragedy.In the next scene, Sunny Deol delivers a powerful dialogue which changes the emotional atmosphere of the teaser. He says, ‘People are living in fear, people are dying, and I… I don’t want to die while I am alive. I am alive, and I will prove that I am alive.’ Along with this dialogue, Sunny is also seen doing many amazing action scenes.
What is ‘Partition 1947’ based on?
The film is based on Asghar Wajahat’s famous play ‘Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai’, which tells the poignant story of the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. Its music is composed by A.R. Rahman has composed it, while the lyrics of the song have been written by Javed Akhtar.
