Indian cinema superstar Alia Bhatt is going to achieve another big achievement on the global stage. Alia will present an award at the 79th BAFTA Awards to be held at the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 22. With this, she joins the list of veteran actresses like Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, who have previously represented India on this prestigious British stage.

Organizers have confirmed that Alia will join an impressive list of guest presenters including Alicia Vikander, Cillian Murphy, Emily Watson and Ethan Hawke. The awards, officially known as the EE BAFTA Film Awards, celebrate the best work in international cinema and will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK.

Alia’s arrival follows in the footsteps of Indian stars Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone, who have performed at the ceremony in past years.
BAFTA 2026 Presenters
On Tuesday, BAFTA released the list of award presenters, with Alia Bhatt being the only Indian celebrity present. Apart from them, big Hollywood superstars will also be present as award presenters at the BAFTA Awards this year. These include: Bryan Cranston, Aaron Pierre, Cillian Murphy, Amy Lou Wood, Alicia Vikander, Noah Jupe, Olivia Cooke, Patrick Dempsey, Regé-Jean Page, Ethan Hawke, Gillian Anderson, Glenn Close, Hannah Waddingham, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Kerry Washington, Little Sims, Maggie Gyllenhaal, David Johnson, Delroy Lindo, Emily Watson, Stormzy, Warwick Davis, Erin Doherty, Stellan Skarsgard, Mia McKenna-Bruce, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Caton, Millie Alcock, Minnie Driver, Monica Bellucci, Sadie Sink and Riz Ahmed.
Boong will compete for big international titles
Apart from Alia, filmmaker Lakshmipriya Devi will also attend the ceremony as her Manipuri language film Boong has received a nomination in the Best Children and Family Film category. Backed by actor-producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the film will compete with Disney releases Lilo & Stitch and Zootopia 2 as well as animated science fantasy feature Arco.
Boong is the story of a little boy from the Manipur Valley, played by Gugun Kipgen, who embarks on a heart-warming journey to surprise his mother with a special gift. This is a special opportunity for the regional Indian film industry at the international level.
