Last year, actress Ayesha Khan was seen in the special number Shararat of Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar. Recently she talked about being removed from a song because of her body size and also about being sexualized daily on Instagram and receiving rape threats.
Ayesha Khan spoke openly on trolling
Ayesha told in an interview that when she was in 12th class, she was supposed to play the second lead role in a song of T-Series, but just one night before the shoot, she was changed because she was considered “fat”.
When asked if she ever felt pressure to fit in and look a certain way, she admitted that it took time for her to feel confident about her looks.
Receive rape threats daily
Ayesha Khan further said, “I get sexualized about my body almost every day on Instagram. I wear normal tops; people have a problem; I wear a skirt, people have a problem. I have to think before I post. If I have to think before wearing something or posting something, just because someone else is going to sexualize me, then that’s, obviously, very sad. I don’t know.” There’s a very thin line I struggle with, sometimes I feel like I’ll post whatever I want, but other times I’m just not in the mood to have a comment tell me what they would do to me if they had the chance.”
She further added, “Because you are a potential rapist, if you had the power or you could do what you are saying, you would have done it. So it’s so scary that these are real people around us. These are not just comments. I get rape threats every day. I wish something strict could be done about it. There are days when it just stirs up my wounds and scares me that if I were to be as famous or powerful as I am today.” Had it not been so, this could have happened.”
Ayesha Khan’s film career
Ayesha started her journey as a junior artiste, making her television debut with Ekta Kapoor’s produced ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’. Ayesha was also seen in Baalveer Returns. In 2022, she made her Telugu debut in a supporting role in the film Mukhachitram.
