Anupam Kher’s first look from ‘Shri Rambhoomi’ revealed: Will play the character of Ashok Singhal in the film, the actor said it is a big responsibility

The shooting of ‘Shri Rambhoomi’ is going on in Ayodhya and Anupam Kher has finally introduced the fans to the character he will play in the film. The veteran actor shared his first look on social media and confirmed that he will play the role of Ashok Singhal. Calling it one of the most important roles of his career, Kher said that playing the character of the late leader with honesty and sensitivity is a responsibility that he gives great importance to.

Anupam Kher posted several pictures from the sets of ‘Shri Rambhoomi’ on Instagram. In the pictures, he is seen wearing white kurta-pajama and wearing a traditional scarf around his neck. He has applied red-white tilak on his forehead and is wearing glasses, which completes his look.

While sharing the pictures, Anupam told that he is playing the character of Ashok Singhal in ‘Shri Rambhoomi’. He told that when pictures of his look started going viral on social media, he felt that it was the right time to share information about his character with his fans.

In his post, Anupam described Ashok Singhal as a dedicated leader, who gave direction to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement and was a true devotee of Lord Ram throughout his life. The actor said that it is a big responsibility to play the character of such an important historical personality with truth and sensitivity. He also said that he will devote his entire life to this role and while starting this journey, he sought the blessings and good wishes of his fans.

Anupam Kher’s latest big film, ‘The Bengal Files’ (2025), was one of the biggest Hindi hits of the year. He also directed ‘Tanvi The Great’, which was less successful at the box office but was praised by critics. Earlier this year, audiences also saw her in ‘Metro…In Dino’, ‘Tumko Meri Kasam’ and Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’; ‘Emergency’ completed its theatrical run with a worldwide gross of approximately Rs 23.81 crore. Earlier, Kher was seen in the Netflix film ‘Vijay 69’.
