Mallika of tunes and veteran playback singer of Hindi cinema Alka Yagnik has been honored with ‘Padma Shraddha’, one of the country’s prestigious civilian honours. President Draupadi Murmu gave him this honor at the grand Padma Award ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday.This was one of the few public appearances of Alka Yagnik after she was diagnosed with an extremely rare and serious hearing loss. After this historic moment, Alka Yagnik has shared a very emotional note on social media regarding her health and the struggle of the last two years.

While sharing a picture of herself on Sunday, Alka Yagnik, who gave voice to classic films like ‘Agar Tum Saath Ho’ and ‘Choli Ke Peeche’, responded to the fitness of the fans. they wrote:“For the past two generations, I have been shying away from sharing the limelight, public appearances and more about a personal journal. Many of you knew that I was growing up with health-related difficulties. During this time, your love, prayers and bonds have been with me every step of the way. Today, as I walked out to receive the Padma Bhushan, my heart was strengthened.”He further said that even though this honor is written in his name, this praise also belongs to his huge pillar who makes his voice a part of their life.
What is that rare disease, which changed Alka’s world?
In the year 2024, Alka Yagnik gave such news to her friend which shocked the entire music industry. He was diagnosed with a rare disease called ‘Sensory Neural Nerve Hearing Loss’, which was caused by a sudden surgical attack.
Recalling that incident, Alka was the first to tell:
“Some time ago when I was flying low, I suddenly felt that I couldn’t see anything. The disciples attributed this to a rare hearing loss. This sudden shock completely startled me.”
Through this post, he advised his young fans and artists against excessive use of loud music and headphones.
“I am returning with prayers.”
In her latest post, Alka Yagnik has awakened a new ray of hope. She wrote, “This moment is special for me because it is not just a recognition of my work, but a reminder of the strength that comes from love and hope. I am slowly making a comeback. I am also the best friend of the Government of India, President Draupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
