Director Nag Ashwin’s film Kalki has been the biggest blockbuster of the year 2024, in which superstars like Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan made a splash. Now a big update is coming out regarding its second part. According to media reports, Bollywood queen Alia Bhatt has now become a part of this big science-fiction universe.
It is reported that Alia has also completed the shooting of the second schedule of the film for about 5 days in Hyderabad last month. Although the makers have not made any official announcement yet, but if this news is true, then this will be Alia’s first big collaboration with Prabhas and Nag Ashwin.
Sai Pallavi’s entry in place of Deepika, so what is Alia’s role?
Initially there were rumors that after Deepika Padukone’s exit from the film, Alia Bhatt would play the role of her character Sumati (Lord Kalki’s mother). But the latest updates are telling a different story. There is talk that after Deepika’s exit, South actress Sai Pallavi is leading in the race to play the role of Sumati. At the same time, Alia Bhatt has been cast in this film not as a replacement, but as a completely new and very powerful character, which will bring a new twist in the story.

When will Kalki 2 release?
The team seems to be very active regarding the shooting of the next phase of Kalki 2. If reports are to be believed, the remaining schedule of the film will be completed by April next year. The makers are going to spend a lot of time on the post-production and heavy VFX of this film, so that the audience can get a great visual experience. Currently, the film is being planned to be released in theaters in December 2027, although the final release date is still awaited.

Alia’s alpha is also ready
Amidst the release of Kalki 2, Alia Bhatt is also in the news for her upcoming action thriller film Alpha. This first female lead film of the YRF spy universe also stars Sharvari, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles along with Alia. This high-octane action film is all set to release in theaters on July 3 this year.
