These days, Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt is in the news more for one of her viral videos than for her films. Alia, who attended the 79th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) as a presenter, was trolled a lot on social media after an interview given on the red carpet. Now the actress has clarified the situation by giving her reaction on these discussions.

What was the whole matter?

During a media interaction on the BAFTA red carpet, Alia was asked which film’s ‘plot twist’ she found most memorable. Alia paused for a while and took the name of the film ‘Gone Girl’. During this time, a debate broke out on the internet regarding his facial expressions and delay in replying. Some users made fun of his ‘expressions’, while some raised questions on his body language.

As the discussion escalated, Alia decided to clarify what happened. In a conversation with fashion commentator Diet Sabya, she responded to the backlash and said, “Why is there so much talk about this? Is it because of my expression?”

Elaborating on his answer he said, So basically I really think this is the best twist but I don’t like it, when was it released? 10 years ago? So I didn’t watch it after that. So when he said, ‘That monologue,’ I said ‘Yeah’ and I was going back in my mind that oh yeah, ‘That monologue, right right right’ and he mentioned cleaning the floors and I said ‘Yeah’ (Yeah) so I went back in time and I think that’s what you saw. I am a cool girl. I am a sweet girl. But I’m more sweet than cool. In fact, I don’t think I’m cool. I am an uncool girl, my sister would say so.

According to Alia, her expressions were simply a reflection of her trying to remember details of a film she watched years ago. She further said that she does not consider herself “cool”, but instead described herself as sweet rather than confident.

On the work front, Alia has a very busy schedule ahead. She will be playing the lead role in the film Alpha directed by Shiv Rawail, which is part of the YRF spy universe. The film also stars Bobby Deol and Sharvari Wagh. Additionally, she is working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Love and War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
