Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on Thursday offered prayers at the iconic Shri Mata Vaishno Devi cave temple located on the Trikuta hills in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. The officers provided this information. Officials said Kumar reached Katra, the base camp of the pilgrimage, after which he proceeded towards the holy cave temple to offer prayers. A lot of enthusiasm was seen among the devotees and local residents regarding the actor’s visit.
Many people had gathered on the route and around the temple premises in the hope of getting a glimpse of the film star. Officials said Kumar paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine and spent some time in prayers before returning. His visit comes at a time when a huge crowd of pilgrims from across the country is reaching the temple due to the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra and the ongoing summer holiday season.

Special prayer in the holy cave:
According to officials, Akshay Kumar bowed his head with full devotion in the sacred natural cave of Maa Vaishno Devi. He offered special prayers to Mata Rani and spent some time praying in solitude in the temple premises before returning from there.

Strict security arrangements amid huge crowd
This visit of Akshay Kumar has come at a time when the summer vacation season is going on across the country and preparations for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra are also in full swing. Due to both these reasons, lakhs of pilgrims from every corner of the country are reaching Katra for the darshan of Mata. In view of the huge crowd, the administration and the Shrine Board had made elaborate arrangements for the safety and smooth darshan of the actor, so that other common devotees also do not face any inconvenience.
