Film actor Aamir Khan said that he is in touch with the family of veteran screenwriter Salim Khan and the family members told him that his (Salim Khan’s) health is improving. Aamir, a close friend of Salim Khan’s son Salman Khan, said that he had recently gone to Lilavati Hospital to meet the 90-year-old writer but could not meet him as he was admitted in the ICU. Aamir told reporters on Wednesday evening, “I went to meet Salim Sahab and we are all praying for his speedy recovery. Since he is in the ICU, I could not meet him personally but I met the family.”

He said, “Alvira (Salman’s sister) tells me every day that his (Salim Khan’s) health is improving. We all are praying that he returns home soon and makes a complete recovery.” Salim Khan is known for his famous writing duo with Javed Akhtar. The duo, popularly known as Salim-Javed, wrote the scripts for some of the most popular films of Hindi cinema, including ‘Sholay’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Don’.

Salim Khan was admitted to the ICU of Lilavati Hospital in Bandra on Tuesday. Dr. Jalil D Parker, who was part of the group of doctors treating Salim Khan, said last week that Salim Khan had suffered brain hemorrhage, which has been treated and as a precaution, he has been put on a ventilator and his condition is stable. Since then, doctors have refrained from making any statements regarding Salim Khan’s health to protect the family’s privacy.
