Oscar winning actor and musician Jared Leto is embroiled in a huge controversy. In the new BBC documentary ‘Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret’, 10 women have made serious allegations against him of sexual misconduct. Of these, 4 women claim that when they were teenagers, the actor had committed criminal sexual offenses with them. All these incidents are said to have taken place between 2002 and 2016, when Jared was in his 30s and 40s.
Victims shared shocking details
In the documentary, 9 women have expressed their views openly for the first time.
First case: A woman alleged that Jared sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom when she was just 17 years old.
Second case: The second woman claims that when she was alone in a hotel room at the age of 19, the actor threatened her with sexual assault.
Third case: Another woman told that she had a relationship with Jared at the age of 17 in California, while the age of consent there was 18 years. When she brought up the issue of the law, Jared ignored her.
Fourth case (grooming allegation): At the age of 16, the actor groomed a girl by making repeated sexually explicit calls and later tried to get her to sign an NDA, which she refused.
Additionally, a woman also alleged that when she was 14 years old, Jared made sexual comments to her during an autograph session at a music festival and asked a security guard to bring her backstage. Crew members also raised questions
Two former crew members of Jared’s band Thirty Seconds to Mars also give statements in the documentary. He told that the crew felt very uncomfortable with Jared’s interactions with teenage girls and that this age-gap did not seem right to everyone. BBC says that they have cross-checked all these claims through friends, family, photos and messages of the victims. No response from Jared Leto
BBC tried to contact Jared Leto several times on all these allegations, but no response or reaction has come from his side. 54 year old Jared is known for big films like Dallas Buyers Club, Suicide Squad and Blade Runner 2049. This is not the first time that such allegations have been made against him, even before this DJ Ellie Teelz and many other women have made such allegations against him, which were rejected by Jared at that time.
