The dispute pertains to the rights of the song, which was jointly composed by Anand–Milind and whose lyrics were written by Sameer Anjaan. This song originally appeared in the 1989 film ‘Tridev’ and was sung by Amit Kumar and Sapna Mukherjee. According to a report in ‘Bar and Bench’, Trimurti Films has claimed in its petition that the song, or a substantially similar version of it, has been used in the defendant’s film without the necessary license or permission.

Sources close to the matter, who spoke to the legal news site, said that Trimurti claimed ownership and control over the rights to the musical work and the sound recording. They have alleged that this use is a violation of copyright, which includes making copies of the song without permission and making it available to the people. They have also expressed concern about the song’s potential commercial use in theatrical releases, streaming platforms and promotional content. In this case, a ban has been sought to prevent further use of the song, along with compensation for the loss and other related relief.
