Musician Sameer Anjaan, while talking to ‘The Mahua Show’, told about the title track of the film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. He said, ‘Earlier this film was offered to Javed Sahab. He left it. This was Karan Johar’s first film and he was very nervous. I thought that if he had gone to Javed Saheb, he would have wanted some couplets and poetry. So I wrote something difficult and took it. Then Karan said, Sir, what have you written? I’m looking for what you write. You speak simple words and straight forward words. I don’t want a lot of poetry etc. in it.

Sameer Anjaan further explains, ‘I asked for 2-3 days’ time and I wrote this Mukhda (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai…), which you heard. He jumped after hearing this. He said, Sir, I want this. Fitoor in my mind too. I said, Karan, perhaps you think this is very simple. Because your film is amazing. It should not seem that the song seems too simple. Sir, don’t confuse me right now. I got what I wanted. That very day I had a feeling that this film would be a good one.

The highest grossing film of 1998 was ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’
