According to the police, the post mortem report will also reveal whether she was raped or not and further cases will be registered on the basis of the report.

On Monday, July 6, Baruipur police district imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defense Code, 2023 in the areas of three police stations under its jurisdiction. With the imposition of prohibitory orders, gathering of five or more people at the same time and place in the areas of these three police stations has been banned till further orders.

Heavy police force has been deployed in the area. Tension spread after the body of a minor girl was found in a pond in Baruipur on Sunday. Local people protested.
